Ether is the most subtle of the elements.  it represents the space that exists within all objets of the universe. Ether therefor is the most subtle form and when matter is in its most basic form only ether is visible.  Ether cannot be perceived by the naked eye but we are able to connect to it by sound and it is associated with the ear.

Vayu translates to mean air and represents all the forces of movement within the universe and our bodies. Wind, blood circulation, nerve impulses, tides and even electric curent are functions of air. This element is the energy center of love and emotions.  It is perceived by touch and associated with the skin.

Fire serves the function of transformation, digestion and metabolism. Agni is strongly linked to radient energy like the sun or light.  When matter undergoes transformation it gives of heat and light which we recognize as fire.  It is associated with vision and linked therefor to the eyes.

Water is mainly about moving stuff around. In the body, it manifests as plasma, lymph, blood, urine and laiva.  These facilitate the transprotation of nutrients and excretion of waste.  It is associated with taste and linked to the tongue.

The main function of earth is to provide the structure of everything.  It shows up in our body as bones, muscle, and other hard structures. Earth is connected to our sense of smell and therefor linked to our nose.
